Hazard Communication
This course provides attendees with the information necessary to successfully manage OSHA Hazard Communication and SARA Title III Community Right-To-Know programs.
The morning session focuses on requirements of the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, and components necessary to implement a functional Hazard Communication Program.
Topics include:
- Hazardous chemical definitions
- Chemical characteristics as predictors of worker exposure
- Interpretation of material safety data sheets
- Labeling
- Recordkeeping
- Training
- Written program requirements
The afternoon session covers the various reporting requirements of the SARA Title III regulations (Sections 302, 311/312, 313, etc.) and the relationships between the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard and SARA Title III. Review of the various Title III reporting criteria, forms and notifications will be provided.
Hands-on exercises are used in both sessions to reinforce key requirements of these two programs.
